Malaysia: buyer questions

Do I need an Approved Permit (AP) to import into Malaysia?

Yes. Every motor vehicle import into Malaysia, including commercial vehicles, needs an AP held by the importer. The AP details must match the customs form so the vehicle can be registered with JPJ.

How long does shipping to Malaysia take?

About 7–15 days at sea to Port Klang, Penang or Pasir Gudang, depending on the loading port and sailing.
